We launched EyeOnSligoCreek.com last night and got high fives from the trees today! Won-ok and I are thrilled that the site is finally live. We didn’t realize quite how much work this was going to require when we first came up with the idea but it has truly been a labor of love. Nearly every free moment not spent at our day jobs has gone into this passion project.
This is just the beginning.
There is so much more we want to do with this site to inspire more people to spend more time exploring Sligo Creek and the Anacostia River Tributary Trail System. We would be honored if you subscribed to the website to get updates about our latest posts, events and opportunities. We hope you’ll write comments on posts that touch you, and that you’ll share EyeOnSligoCreek.com far and wide on your social media.
We encourage you to contribute, too. Drop us a line through our Contact Us page or email us at info@eyeonsligocreek.com and tell us how you would like to be involved. Among other things, we would love to make use of your talents in writing, photography, videography, video editing, poetry, developing and helping to manage events, or anything else that makes sense. We’re open to a wide range of ideas. This site is about using all forms of storytelling to build a stronger sense of Sligo Creek community and connecting people to the transformative power of nature. In this frightening coronavirus era, it’s also about helping people find peace and joy.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Christopher Lancette and Won-ok Kim
