The University Boulevard retention ponds along Sligo Creek must be the favorite spot of Canada Geese in town. They hang out there all the time: in the early morning, throughout the day, in the evening, and even at night. They don’t seem to be bored there at all. They explore every part of the water, walk, run, dance, preen, scratch, stretch, bathe, swim, dive, and dive into the ponds. And of course, they often honk and bark, or maybe they mean to sing. There was no exception today. (January 12, 2020) — Won-ok Kim
