We met this great blue heron at the University Boulevard retention ponds along Sligo Creek on the morning of January 1, 2020. It felt like she knew we were coming and she was waiting for us. She meant to be part of Eye On Sligo Creek. We named her Ms. Ana Costia, and adopted her as the first family member of Eye On Sligo Creek. Maybe she adopted us as members of her family, too. Thank you, Ana! Follow in our footsteps as we meet Ana for the first time. (January 1, 2020)
